Next thing you know, in their efforts to distract from Trudeau's latest scandal, they will bring up the egregious $16 glass of orange juice.

Poilievre is a big liar just like Trump when he says the carbon tax is the cause of all inflation.

There is no evidence for this from the Bank of Canada nor from economists to prove that.

Many countries without a carbon tax experienced similar levels of inflation.

Then he goes on to criticize experts? Typical Conservative BS about how people with the expertise are all wrong. Where have we heard that before?

The man who said crypto would solve inflation? LOL

The only thing he is good at is capitalizing on Trudeau's ineptness and period of economic challenges and inflation which is big problem in many countries.

        Just another lying Conservative politician!

If you are going to call people liars maybe you could give us a cut and paste of him saying thevcarbon tax is the cause of all inflation.

And a quote of him saying crypto would solve inflation might help to avoid your reputation as both of those statements are probably stretching the truth .

Your much like Trump yourself Chuck.
          You have your truth?

It's Little PPs "axe the facts" campaign!

He never mentions any other reasons except the tax. Proof enough that he is misleading at best and lying about the other causes.

You need to read this article Chuck2: “Errors in explaining impact of carbon tax on inflation shake confidence in Bank of Canada.” by Sylvain Charlebois.

From the article:”The banks prompt response revealed that the .15 ratio only considered three components of the Consumer Price Index — natural gas, heating oil, and gasoline — all of which are retail-taxed items. This estimate failed to account for second-round or pass-through effects across the entire supply chain of other major CPI components, indicating a narrow focus in their calculations. On Oct. 30, Macklem introduced a new angle, stating that eliminating the carbon tax would lead to a one-time drop of 0.60 percentage points in the inflation due to accumulated tax increases over the years. This means with our current inflation rate of 3.8%, the carbon tax is responsible for 16 percent of inflation.”

Trevor Tombe at the U of C calculated the indirect effects as well and they are similar to Sylvain Charlebois estimates of 0.6 %, well less than 1%. So what about the causes of the other 3.2% of current inflation?

Not even close to the bogus claims Crypto makes about the carbon tax!

So your going to stand by your statement ?

"Poilievre is a big liar just like Trump when he says the carbon tax is the cause of all inflation"

Can we agree that the carbon tax causes inflation , as you describe above?

Can you provide a quote with Poilievre speaking saying the carbon tax causes ALL inflation.

If not, maybe a retraction , as you don't want to be seen as a Trump type.

                    Trump is a liar.

If true that should be all over the news. I'm sure there's bureaucratic excuse why they couldn't have been donated somewhere.

Why do we even have to debate the carbon tax?
If you think little old Canada can change weather all by itself with its stupid carbon tax then your delusional!
