Here is a peer reviewed journal article coming to the same conclusion.

Moving away from fossil fuels is essential for a sustainable future. Carrying out this transition without reversing the improvements in the quality of life i...

This works out to 5 times the entire US annual GDP. Needing replaced every 15 years.
Looked over the research quickly. To look at it properly will take more time. Obviously judging by comments in the conclusion the authors are quite biased against fossil fuels. Regardless, they concluded as you stated you would need months of storage and the ability of that storage to store electricity for months at a time before it was used. Obviously looking at Chuck2’s response he didn’t even look at it, not surprised. Anyone that believes a grid supplied totally by wind and solar and storage would be practical and affordable is dreaming..

You missed my question about converting all the coal plants to renewable wood pellets.
The science is proven and peer reviewed.
We ship them to Britain where they account for a significant amount of thier renewable generation.
We have smaller scale co- gen plants going here.
Hog fuel is trucked past here 7 days a week.

Wouldn't that meet our 2030 commitment and help solve that problem of our forrest being net carbon emitters?

Lots of idle coal plants to be converted.

        The science is proven.
        Solves all our problems.

Why haven't we already done this Chuck?

Because Danny want to burn more gas and "save the farmland" and her petro buddies pristine views at their luxury weekend houses!

So your all in on the coal conversions?

Would be no need for those dirty gas peakers to cover the slump in solar.

Isn't science wonderful. According to chuck, if a tree dies and decomposes, that carbon is emitted and counts against our emissions. If Forest Burns in a forest fire the carbon is emitted and counts against our emissions. But according to science, if you take that same tree and burn huge amounts of fossil fuels to cut it process it grind it up transport it and burn it in a power plant, it doesn't emit carbon.

I think you are right, we should burn all of our forests in power plants to solve the climate crisis. It will simultaneously solve the forest fire crisis.
