Weber I never said ag subsidies and safety nets are all bad policy did I?

But the pretend libertarians who complain about subsidies to everyone else, never seem to recognize and admit that they also get significant taxpayer subsidies.

Target the subsidies to small and medium sized farms and certain sectors who need it.

Why does Monette farms need a subsidy? They will be getting millions in taxpayers support that drives up the price of land for smaller farms who can't afford it.

I’d think you’re a big farmer with 40quarters compared to me. You deserve nothing in my view. The guy or gal with 5 quarters probably thinks I deserve nothing either. Where do you draw the line?

Cap the subsidy and safety net programs at a reasonable level to keep small and medium sized farms in business so that they don't struggle and disappear.

Let the bigger farms make it on their own without taxpayers support.

There is no need to subsidize the big investor mega farms that are gobbling up all the land and pushing smaller farms out.

Why does the oil industry need subsidies and incentives to push their agenda?

I don't know what is a cutoff line because we are talking about a very diverse sector in many different provinces.

Design a policy that sustains and supports as many small to medium sized family farms as possible and keeps rural communities viable.

is it fair to give the very badly managed smaller farm free money and the very well managed similar sized farm notting because they are more profitable ? good luck designing that policy !

We are already giving a lot of money to farms that don't need it already. Why does Monette need subsidies again? Cut them off they don't need them to be successful.

Did i say huge farms shud get free money ? don't think so , subsidies have destroyed farming in Europe , thats why i left , its a nightmare to farm , all the so called subsidies come with huge amount or red tape and regulations , if you don't comply no payment , i would quit here if it ever got to farm depending on government handouts
