When grain prices were low it kept farmers growing cheap food .Seen it lived it.Now a days I agree with you.I think Moe's wants people to believe it will be some sort of food security when in fact it will be a money scam that will fill pockets of a few.

I always thought countries that subsidize their farmers were basically subsidizing food for consumers.made it real tough for Canadian farmers to compete and make a profit. Now Moe says his humongous irrigating subsidy will help guarantee cheaper food for consumers.I know Moe math is usually whacked out but is that not a slap in the face for the other 95% of the dryland farmers in Sask.

So what industries or sectors actually need subsidies in your opinion, chuck?

I can't think of any, except perhaps r&d on projects which could have decadal time scales.

Glad to know you support subsidies to those who don't need it. A true libertarian!

Why do very profitable industries and large farms that can survive on their own need taxpayers subsidies furrow?

What happened to the fiscal conservatives who are calling for balanced budgets and restraint?

You got to love the pretend free market farmer clowns who complain about subsidies and support to the others, but then make excuses about why they should get them!

Just like all the farmers who took CEBA loans and grants that didn't need them and then complained about the overspending during covid? Huh?

    How do you spell hypocrisy?

Oil and gas subsidies, and Ag pay close to 10-1 . How does that stack up against other extremely wasteful government subsidies??
