Technically, it comes from all of the countries who buy their fossil fuels.

A question for newguy. Over the course of the years that this 30 billion will be used to bribe and buy influence with African nations, under the guise of alternative energy, how many multiples of that will the UAE spend on increasing their fossil fuel output? They already committed to increasing their fossil fuel output quite drastically.

So have you received any decent rains in the area west of Red Deer and is the drought over?

From the IEA June 2024

Investment in clean energy this year is set to be twice the amount going to fossil fuels

https://www.iea.org/news/investment-in-clean-energy-this-year-is-set-to-be-twice-the-amount-going-to-fossil-fuels

“Clean energy investment is setting new records even in challenging economic conditions, highlighting the momentum behind the new global energy economy. For every dollar going to fossil fuels today, almost two dollars are invested in clean energy,” said IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol. “The rise in clean energy spending is underpinned by strong economics, by continued cost reductions and by considerations of energy security. But there is a strong element of industrial policy, too, as major economies compete for advantage in new clean energy supply chains. More must be done to ensure that investment reaches the places where it is needed most, in particular the developing economies where access to affordable, sustainable and secure energy is severely lacking today.”

Who's Money?

It's basic money laundering.

Zero point Zero chance of ever achieving any goals.

The G7 countries and China are the main sources of money.

China is going to be the big winner with a huge ROE being multiplied by all the virtuous dollars coming from countries like Canada.

8% unreliables

Renewables and clean energy investment are growing very fast.

But it will still be a long transition away from fossil energy.

Harper said Canada would stop burning fossil fuels for energy in 2100.

It will go on for as long as people are willing to have a lower standard of living year after year.

The money is all spent.

Higher and higher taxes called equality won't fly.

Thank you for asking. Yes, after basically no rain for a month we've had a 2" event, 2 half inch events, and a few more showers in the past 10 days. We never did get to enjoy a drought here, always too wet.

Why do you embarrass yourself by posting this damning statistics about investment in unreliable energy?

If investment in unreliable energy was double that of fossil fuels, yet fossil fuels still produce more than 81% of all world energy ( and that share hasn't budged in spite of all the investment and hype into alternatives), and wind and solar only produce 8%, that makes unreliables more than 20 times more expensive.

This could be the reason why you can't find even a single example of wind and solar resulting in cheaper energy for the consumer?

A5 Rome wasn't built in a day was it?

You can ignore the massive investments and say the world shouldn't change, but nobody is listening to climate change deniers.

Building Rome in a day might be unreasonable. But how about 24 years? Shouldn't we see some progress by now?

The world has spent over $7 trillion on renewable energy since 2000.

During that period, fossil fuels share of world primary energy production has declined by 1%.

At what point in the future will spending trillions on unreliables move the needle on global energy production?
Edit to add that fossil fuel consumption has grown by over 50% during that same period.
The 7 trillion dollars spent on renewables hasn't even put a dent in fossil fuel growth. All it has done is make energy more expensive and less reliable.

Don't be so hard on chuck. He has a valid excuse for not posting any pictures of his drought ravaged crops.
In another thread he's referring to a lose Canon.
And after multiple prompts for him to correct his grade five level spelling errors, he left it be. So I assume he/she(or is its preferred pronoun actually we, that is how it often refers to itself on this forum?) really has lost his Canon camera. And judging by his infatuation with party lines, it's probably still using a film camera.

Nah. He was posting lots and forgot to check his drill. Seeded canola at 9#. Meota is good country but not necessary to seed that heavy.
