Maybe it’s a woman that works at Sask power getting paid for writing up nonsense.

So Chuck after all the propaganda you spewed here , are electricity costs to the consumers going to be less or significantly more like NY and all the countries in the world with the most “green” power generation and the highest consumer electricity rates ??Last edited by furrowtickler; Sep 1, 2024, 21:33.

should that not be 100% the case?
I find it hard to believe when you see the rates paid by consumers in the rest of the countries where solar and wind are touted to be the saviour. In fact most pay the highest rates in the world

Why not ask Sask Power and the rate review panel?
But one thing we know for sure is Sask Power have said wind and solar are the lowest cost source of new generation.
And Sask Power, Manitoba Hydro, and Doug Ford in Ontario are all adding significant amounts of solar and wind to the mix of generation sources.
And Alberta was on track to add even more until Danny Smith decided to pick winners and losers and added a whole lot of red tape because she had no other way to slow down the booming growth of renewables driven by economics.
And the Alberta Utilities Commission report said land use issues related to renewables was a small minor issue compared to all the other land use issues and land losses occurring.
Danny Smith, instead of getting government out of the way of free enterprise and land owner rights, purposely got in the way. And the pretend Libertarians are all in favour!

A5 are you still confusing weather and climate?
Time to change the subject and give up because you lost the argument about solar and wind costs versus other generation sources? LOL

This must be because you have finally found an example somewhere in the world of wind and solar not resulting in higher electricity prices for the consumer?
Please share, I would like nothing more than to be proven wrong.
Newguy used the word weather, so I responded by using the word weather.
I could ask you the same, how long after installing wind and solar should we expect the "climate" to improve, and insurance rates to decline? Instantly, next week, millions of years?
Do you remember when we discussed the residence time of CO2 in the atmosphere?
Do you remember that you failed to find the answer, other than a wild guess?

Par for the course here people just accept that renewables will be more expensive but we are doing our bit to help.
Main issue is some of the very first wind towers are being replaced and no govt help second time around have to stand on the own, pardon the pun hence increasing costs this time around.
And no idea costs of turbines this time around 30 years later 10 times the cost??? Who knows, same will happen with solar farms, same happened to power stations.
Longevity appears in hydro

it’s complete b/s that it is cheaper or rates would be less to the consumer.

Simple question, if it so much cheaper than fossil fuels , as proclaimed why are rates so expensive to consumers?

correct furrow not really pushed here as cheaper just sustainable
Nuclear is becoming a topic as our state has third highest uranium deposits in the world.
Think russia 1 canada 2 south australia 3. cheap power yep cost of new power plants expensive net benifit to consumer power possibly same price.....
