I think you bring up a valid point.

Should there be some sort of performance based compensation after a term is over?
    Similar to the private sector.
No capable COE is going to give up their multimillion compensation with performance bonuses to be CEO of the country for a pittance, so we get financial illiterates such as the current crop.

We could pay a competent politician with a long term strategy billions in compensation and be far better off than quibbling over a 6 figure pension for an incompetent ( or malicious) politician who costs the economy billions per year.

And just maybe there would be no need for corruption and bribery if they were paid enough. Maybe...

You get what you pay for.

Strong quiet men just want to be left alone, it is why they fight with such ferocity, anger, and strength when forced out from there quite place of solitude.

Big wheel, that sure was thoughtful of you to bring this carbon tax discussion over to chucks asylum. He must have been pulling his hair out reading the carbon tax discussions over in the adult forum, while he was not allowed to add his comments.

Maybe try not to crap in your pants so much then Foolrow!

You are going to be disappointed with Crypto, the union supporting, pro choice, woke supporter of LGBQT+ MPs including his deputy Leader.

He yaps a good line, but he really is an elitist, university educated city boy, career politician that has little in common with far right rural conservatives with his $230,000 plus guaranteed pension!

That summed up all your talking points in one post.

You pretty much got nothing left to say?

It’s pretty bad that we vote not because we like the politician but we vote against the politicians we really dislike.

Chucks incessant attempts to bring gender and race into every situation where no such discrimination actually exists always reminds me of the Thomas Sowell quote:
"Racism is not dead, but it is on life support – kept alive by politicians, race hustlers and people who get a sense of superiority by denouncing others as ‘racists" Thomas Sowell
