AXE THE TAX!!!! AXE THE TAX!!!! @Im going to con you already!

So here we are the peasants debating if the carbon tax is good or bad what else we should do and its apparently all for nothing if this article is true. National Post article by John Iveson, Pollievre wont axe all the carbon tax, ex Harper advisor Ken Boessenkool

We re all being conned into an election based on a lie if this is true.
and I had no idea Alberta will be increasing their carbon tax on everyone there to 170 a t. Someone tell me this is not real?

If someone can post the link its really something we all need to read. thank you.

Poilievre is planning to axe the consumer carbon tax not the industrial large emitters tax that Alberta and Saskatchewan among other provinces have.

The large emitters tax is hidden in the economy.

Axe on one hand increase on the other? We all pay for the industrial tax also dont we? Its just a shuffle of where we pay plus there will be no rebates to the lower income people?

So exactly how is Poilievre lying? The industrial carbon taxes in each province are run and legislated Provincially as Ken Boessenkool pointed out in the video. Poilievre only has jurisdiction over the federal carbon tax on gasoline, diesel, natural gas, propane etc. Certainly the cost of the industrial carbon tax is downloaded on to consumers but legislatively it is beyond the federal government’s purview. Poilievre will axe the tax we pay on natural gas and propane and the tax commercial truckers pay on diesel!

Polivere should rightfully drop the federal carbon tax as it is shouldered by those who have no means to reduce emissions economically on essential consumption. Easy for a champagne socialist like Honeydew to build a solar array and buy a hybrid. Rest of us can add all the insulation and triple pane windows we want but essentially there is no way getting around increased transportation costs of essential goods or our own personal transport. This is not Europe. You can’t fall out of your house into a different country.

I think its high-time that Moe took the PST off insurance, food snd children’s clothes. This is rediculous. He has billions to throw at an unnecessary ill-fated irrigation experiment and punishes the rest of the population. Smarten Up Moe.

Agree with this, but to meet our trade agreement quotas for carbon isnt the amount going to just be shuffled to the provinces to make up the difference? Or wont we just have to pay more for buying foreign trade goods and get less for exporting our goods? not to mention pay more provincially? not sure but I think thats how it works??

I think if you ask many citizens they really dont even think there is a provincial carbon tax in place but there is and most are thinking getting rid of the federal one means were done with carbon pricing .

Basically is it not true that if we want to be involved equally in world trade we have to have some sort of carbon practice in place and in one way or another we have to pay for it? Whats being told to everyone is that if we get rid of the Federal tax everything is just gonna drop in price instantly is that really going to happen? I dont think so but maybe am wrong.

Should Trudeau get a pension for pillaging the country?

Hahaha no but how do you feel about half of the Sask Party mlas quitting so they can all have these lavish pensions and we ll have to pay for another round of useless MLAs that do next to nothing for their constituents? All those pensions have to change theyre ridiculous.

I think you bring up a valid point.

Should there be some sort of performance based compensation after a term is over?
                          Similar to the private sector.
No capable COE is going to give up their multimillion compensation with performance bonuses to be CEO of the country for a pittance, so we get financial illiterates such as the current crop.

We could pay a competent politician with a long term strategy billions in compensation and be far better off than quibbling over a 6 figure pension for an incompetent ( or malicious) politician who costs the economy billions per year.

And just maybe there would be no need for corruption and bribery if they were paid enough. Maybe...

You get what you pay for.

It’s probably true and if its true I’m betting small steel pipe and amo will hit a new high, Canada hasn’t had a civil war for a while.
