Benjamin Netanyahu wants war and crisis instead of a peace deal because he will lose the next election because he has failed to make a deal to get the hostages out.

The far right extremists in Israel will have nothing to do with a 2 state solution. They want to occupy and control as much of the west bank and the gaza strip as possible.

Israels response has been not been in proportion. Without a peace deal and a 2 state solution they will face a conflict that will never end.
