I see Microsoft is taking on Three Mile Island and slating it to be open by 2028 to power their data centres. With the expansion of AI more electricity is needed.

So maybe try to think before you post about Germany as a bogus example of the failure of clean energy and ignore Texas!
And did you forget about why Germany wants to transition away from Russian gas?
I think so!
But then you and some of your Republican friends think Putin, Kim Jong Un and Iran are apparently not that bad and Ukraine should cede territory to the former soviet union era leader! LOL

And Texas has sun and wind resources among the best in the world. Germany has some of the poorest.

Plus Texas has lots of renewables! You forgot that part! LOL
Yup and Alberta has a strong economy too, similar to Texas.
Primarily because with government subsidies and incentives they developed one of the most important and highly valuable resources of the 20th century.
It's now the 21st century and climate change is one of the biggest threats to the world economy and demand for oil.
And guess what, you got all your eggs in one basket and you have gone from boom to bust for many decades without saving almost any of the one time resource revenue like the true fiscal conservatives have in Norway. Even Alaska does a better job of managing resource income.
Are you sure Alberta will survive with a strong economy into the 22nd century when Albertan and Prime Minister Harper said Canada will stop burning fossil fuels for energy by the year 2100?
By then the oil well and tar sands clean up liability bill could be a trillion dollars and Alberta could be a have not province if they don't diversify the economy.
The lenders and shareholders to the oil industry should be on the hook for that liability which will bankrupt the province the way its going!Last edited by chuckChuck; Oct 29, 2024, 07:36.

We aren't reducing CO2 production we are exporting it along with our industry.
But we are the most virtuous?
You are being misled.
More can see it now.

To be fair, I think southern US is well situated to harness the sun’s rays and turn those rays into power but here we have few months where the rays are abundant enough and panels are not covered by ice crystals, ice and snow. Can we depend on green energy to consistently endow us with uninterrupted energy - I don’t think so at this time.
