No they didn't. Pollsters said Moe had a rural fortress that would probably stay green.
As the cities grow and rural areas decline further eventually they will dominate like in Winnipeg.
Rural jobs and farms will continue to disappear as small towns with no healthcare die.

All in the guise of protecting children? Huh?
Kids are at risk in overcrowded classrooms with few supports and with shitty healthcare and supports for mental healthcare. And then Moe plays gutter politics by punching down on the most vulnerable kids for just a few fringe votes that were not needed? Higgs got the boot on this issue.
Moe lost the cities, plus several key Minsters and MLA's.
BC rejected the fringe right of Rustad The NDP got 44% of the vote in Alberta last election. Manitoba elected a new NDP government last year.
That's a lot of NDP gains and success.
Now its time for some of the most stridently anti NDP bashers on Agrisilly to face the facts that the NDP is a political force in all 4 western provinces!
So dial down your stupid over the top claims about the NDP being far left communists because the election results suggest other wise.
Moe will struggle as he faces a much stronger well financed opposition that will drag his tired party over the coals.
And with PP and the CPC in power he loses his favorite and productive issue, bashing the federal government.
And now he will be forced to focus on the issues that are going to bring him down if he doesn't listen. Healthcare and education.
The NDP will have a large positive influence in the next 4 years.
Those are for losers.

You are the loser LEP!
To get that many seats in a western largely rural based province is a win for the NDP!
All the scare mongering and tying the NDP to Trudeau didn't work!
A bad sign for the next election when PP has cut everything and burned a lot of bridges and not solved the big problems.
If Trump gets elected then PP will likely get just a minority which is what he deserves!

Crop the popular vote in the polls is very different depending on the efficiency of the vote in the cities and country side. Most analysts were saying that it was a long shot for the NDP given the number of safe rural seats for Moe. And it looks like the polls were wrong on the popular vote by a wide margin.Last edited by chuckChuck; Oct 29, 2024, 07:38.

And the Federal party still performs well in many big city ridings.

No matter what the outcome, he will twist and contort and torture the facts and pronounce himself correct and the winner.
The psychologists have a word for people like that.

That is a 180° u-turn compared to your attitude during the covid era.

The SK election proved once again that all polls these days are push polls. It wasn't even close to what 'polls' were saying. Just like polls in the US that had kamala ahead of Trump. I normally keep chuck blocked but I did see his laughable statement that urban voters are more sophisticated than their more rural counterparts which reminded me why chuck needs to be kept blocked.
