Prior to covid, I was in favor of replacing cash with a digital currency. It would eliminate the underground economy, make it nearly impossible to evade taxes, practically eliminate organized crime, and nearly every other kind of property crime.
But at that time I was still naive enough to believe that governments would always be benevolent.
Then I watched as a malevolent government locked the bank accounts of their political opponents.

Heard this sentiment somewhere. Could apply it to any all encompassing fear:
Write down all your fears on paper and look at it every now and then. Did it come true?
I'm old enough to remember when it was either cash or cheque. It is still my preferred method of payment, although I do have a credit card. I like to be able to go to the bank and talk to a teller. I'm not a fan of everything digital. All it would take is for a few satellites or the electric grid to go down.

Please don't do that, mallee.
The political storm is settled for awhile. The real storm hits Tues-Weds., and I need entertainment to get thru it.
Did your mom ever use her credit card? Last one I had was 40 years ago, and only used it once in the "home of the ten dollar note".
