Now who is the paranoid conspiracy theorist? You're giving forage a run for his money for this coveted title.

So you don't believe there is a Trump coin? There is no Trump Bible? It is all about greed and power.

Physical currency will be replaced by digital currency eventually. What form that will take is anybodies guess. Governments will probably do it. How to keep the criminals out is the problem.

Going to be enshrined in law here to keep it as per original post. My 93 yr old mom only got a credit card at age of 85 when we lost bank in our town

Edit yeah she survived on cash and cheques only

Prior to covid, I was in favor of replacing cash with a digital currency. It would eliminate the underground economy, make it nearly impossible to evade taxes, practically eliminate organized crime, and nearly every other kind of property crime.
But at that time I was still naive enough to believe that governments would always be benevolent.

Then I watched as a malevolent government locked the bank accounts of their political opponents.

As I pointed out above, they are paranoid. They see Trump hiding in every shadow.
I worry about their mental health over the next 4 years.

Heard this sentiment somewhere. Could apply it to any all encompassing fear:

Write down all your fears on paper and look at it every now and then. Did it come true?

I'm old enough to remember when it was either cash or cheque. It is still my preferred method of payment, although I do have a credit card. I like to be able to go to the bank and talk to a teller. I'm not a fan of everything digital. All it would take is for a few satellites or the electric grid to go down.

                              Please don't do that, mallee.

The political storm is settled for awhile. The real storm hits Tues-Weds., and I need entertainment to get thru it.

Did your mom ever use her credit card? Last one I had was 40 years ago, and only used it once in the "home of the ten dollar note".

I realize cash is becoming a rarity.
                                And criminals love it.
But I wonder if it isn't a right?
A few businesses here are cash only.
                                Meat shop and barbers.
                                Why buy gold or silver?
Govts need to increase it's income is probably the root cause of the idea.
                                I don't trust that either.
