    Dunning Kruger effect.

To be clear, I'm not advocating for such censorship. Just throwing it out there as one possibility.

It would be nice. Just not terribly realistic sadly.

It's down to our own power to associate with the immature and ignorant or not. Can't have the government censorship save us from everything.

What is the news censorship youve mentioned occasionally?

News here uncensored. Evening standard news neither left or right leaning in my opinion. Its the talk shows following is where you get left right bias. Pick you poison. Again most of the talk shows are in agreeance about social media ban just the implementation they get argumentative.

I'm not sure that would be the long term result.

How many knowledgeable people with moderate views, thin skin and a lot to contribute take one look at the cesspool that most SM degenerates into thanks to the minority of overbearing voices, and say no thanks?

Would the silent majority slowly trickle in if they weren't attacked and threatened with being called flat earther's(and a lot worse) for having a view point not quite as extreme as the extreme elements who dominate SM?

Even a drovers dog wouldnt come on here nowadays as a first timer.

Agriville has changed so much since i think i first appeared mid 90s ??? But so has society changed i guess agriville going with the flow.

Plenty of other farm sites but agriville has cutting edge wit humour and sarcasm great to see blaithin pop in now and then. Sometimes ya gotta laugh at yourself as well in debate "great comeback he got me there"

Agrisilly is the home of several anti science types and science deniers, flat earthers and antivaxer conspiracy theorists and those who enable them.

It's not possible to have an intelligent discussion with people like that.

you would not be capable of an intelligent discussion because you are not open to other opinions , plato's allegory of the cave comes to mind

That humility is exactly what's missing from a few posters here who take themselves far too seriously.

Afraid to ever admit that they were wrong, or that someone else made a valid point or had a humorous response.

Like religious cult members who can't concede that one of the fairy tales might not have actually happened because they would have to question everything else about the cult.
