Pierre had the same contempt for the west as his son. The Parti Quebecois were in power in Quebec so certainly a good portion of Quebecers were not proud Canadians.
I remember in school having the cultural melting pot (US) and mosaic, (CA) explained. I thought then the mosaic concept flawed. I seem to be proven right. Social Studies even then was bending. Teachers were all enamored with Pierre. They were after all in high school/college in the 60s.
Pierre was a trust fund jet-setter and draft dodger who didn't need the West at all. Sound familiar? At least he completed a marketable education.
Remember, the draft was always a potential riot for Quebec in both wars.
Although he was right when he asked why he should sell our wheat, we just didn't realize it then.

Canada in a financial train wreck thanks to Singh not doing the right thing a long time ago simply worried about securing his own pension .
Singh has basically held Canada hostage for his own benefit.
this financial train wreck could have been stopped well over a year ago , but the selfish NDP leader was looking out for himself only and screwed all Canadian taxpayers by allowing the out of control spending to spiral to insane levels leading to massive deficits.
There has been zero accountability in this coalition government for 9 years and it will take a decade to fix now

I'm sure a few decades of the Mosaic versus melting pot concept wouldn't have anything to do with Canadians not feeling proud to be Canadians.

I was hoping to hear it from some of the NDP’s on here but all went quiet. Guess I would be too ashamed to say anything also if that was my party!

What costly debacles in Ag over the last decades? That's a laugh that makes no sense as the NDP have had little influence for the last decades!
But Weber and common sense don't often align!
Did they cause the drought and bad crops? Or the near record prices and incomes for some farmers in 2022? Or the run up in the cost of production and land?
Get serious, most of what happened wasn't controlled by any government!
Musk and Trump just torpedoed more Ag spending in the US and I expect PP will cut spending on Ag in Canada to reduce the deficit.
Getting rid of biofuel subsidies might be next. Cutting costs and taxes and using tariffs are their priorities.
FElon is about to cut the gravy going to farmers and Kennedy is about to trash pesticides. Are you going to cheer them on?

I admit to laziness and not proof reading. Using an absolute for effect.
Off the top of my head.
Arguing over the Crow until the federal offer dwindled considerably.
Support for the CWB. It's cost is immeasurable.
Expensive milk. An even more expensive quota system problem.
Every hare-brained intrusion into agriculture cloaked in "green" or "inclusive" paint.
Anything union related. No costs there right?
No end to the list or it's additions for that matter.
Maybe some SK residents can chime in and explain why for 30 years prosperity appeared to vanish at the provincial border. Why for a decade or two our immigrants were from SK.
I'm sure we can blame profits, cause you know, they're evil. Or any company.
Things are always better when the Peter Principle is running things.

odd comment that yup haven't been since 2017 but visits before that Larry was one of the most respected people in your grain industry. Farmers machinery dealers even cattleman I stayed with spoke of him in high regard, I must mix with wrong guys over there.
Personally I'm glad I've got to know him via agriville.
Might even get to meet chuck in 25 if I get up that far into your great land.

Chuck and Weber must have some history down the line. The town I suspect Weber was raised around you don’t mess around with one of their own unless you want to take on the rest of them. Where Chuck is from they’d gladly offer him up for tribute if the hunger games were a thing.
