I doubt Trudeau resigning will change much for the Libs in the next election but I was really hoping he would stick around to get pummeled and maybe even lose his own seat in the next election.
If Carney wants in on this, doesn't he need to be elected as an MP??

Proroguing kills the capital gains changes. He should have just called the election. A new leader won't change the outcome much in the next election.

It's not the same as when Harper prorogued because Harper stuck it out and won the confidence in the next session.
