Is Smith our only Diplomatic connection to the Trump government of any consequence?
She made the rounds of the Canadian networks (incl CBC} in Washington today and made them all sound like they had scripted questions trying to attack her.
She just smiled and gave very knowledgeable and logical answers.
Different than listening to Melanie Joly.

I will just say Mrs Smith might have single single-handedly saved the whole country from tariffs or at least made a galant effort to!
She is a Strong and intelligent women!
Chuck doesn’t seem to like strong intelligent women and calls her male names likely because he’s afraid of women like that.
Mrs Jolly went down but just talked rubbish that no one could make sense of. Her and her boss have make fun of Trump the most powerful man in the World now and I suspect he will be a little spiteful to people that made fun of him.

Danny is the weak link.
Moe and Ford standup for their province, but still put Canada first with a united front.
She hurt her credibility by showing all her cards with nothing in return. Trump is still planning on tariffs and the negative consequences are already happening.
Regardless of tariffs, Trump wants the US to produce a lot more oil which will result in lower prices for Alberta.

Where was the united front and team Canada while the liberals were practicing their divide and conquer over the past 9 years?

You mean when Trudeau purchased the TMX pipeline to kill the alberta oil industry?
As I said before, Alberta's second largest export is whining about Trudeau and how bad they have it! Cue the violins!

If Smith didn't like what she heard regarding Alberta's O+G behind closed doors and a consensus couldn't be reached, then let them know what her next step could possibly be.
The Canada I live in has 10 provinces not nine no matter how much I despise the governing party and the PM.
BP, when PP becomes PM will that be enough to possibly change the dial for you?

A change of government would not change any dials.
Quebec is for Quebec first.
Ontario is for Ontario first.
Ottawa is for Ottawa first.
Not a coincidence they are all against Senate reform for one example.
Moe likely didn't get an invite.
An opportunity for face time with the incoming powers merely a scheduling conflict with a meeting that meant or did very little but look good to the Canadian voters that cared.
Kinda like the Catholic Women's League standing against nuclear weapons.
Although Doug Ford did look tough in his ball cap. Noticed he still stepped back and looked at the floor when a federal minister fired up with his word salad tho.
Smith is just another politician of course but appears to be the only adult in the room even if somewhat self serving.
Wouldn't it be refreshing to have adults in Ottawa?
Not questioning your patriotism but it's clear our experience as Canadians quite different.

Had to read that one again. Entertaining actually.
Rather hilarious given the history.
Again, no disrespect. Never would I use an eye roll emoji.
