Utilities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, and Texas have all installed significant amounts of renewable electricity. So they must think it works just fine and adds low cost capacity. How can you dispute their business cases that resulted in significant renewables in their systems?

Economists in Alberta and Texas have said that renewables help keep prices lower because they can produce electricity at a lower generation costs and lower prices during many high demand periods. Not all of course. This offsets a lot of additional costs due to duplication and backup.?
