But MAGA supporters must think tariffs are just fine right!
so To protect a German company to set up in eastern Canada , the liberals tariffed China and western Canadian canola growers just got sideswiped yet again to protect eastern jobs

So if China can land an ev in North America for half the price of comparable domestic models what does that say about the competitiveness of our domestic manufacturing? I know as I stated before about the Chinese government subsidizing and market cornering but. Can understand the need for tariffs and China loves to beat on ag imports as it is low hanging fruit and they will end up with them at lower cost. Aside from rendering dissidents they need canola.

Tariffs don't go into effect till March 20 and doesn't include canola seed.
They are able to buy $40 cheaper at the open today.
Gives them huge advantage as they are the able to tank the price but still get full value for the end product unlike our domestic crush.
China is the logical alternative market but they just demonstrated again why they are not good traders.
They are always smiling, especially on the day they take full advantage.

Our EV tariffs against China were to match US tariffs that Biden put on China.
The US would have accused us of being a backdoor for Chinese imports if we had not matched them. And we also needed to protect our own investments in EV manufacturing and several newly signed agreements.
Sept 13 (Reuters) - The Biden administration on Friday locked in steep tariff hikes on Chinese imports, including a 100% duty on electric vehicles, to boost protections for strategic industries from China's state-driven industrial practices.
The U.S. Trade Representative's office said that many of the tariffs, including a 100% duty on Chinese EVs, 50% on solar cells and 25% on steel, aluminum, EV batteries and key minerals, would take effect on Sept. 27.

I don't recall you posting multiple threads per day against Biden when he was enacting protectionist tariffs.
Are tariffs only bad when Trump uses them?

There was a lot of support for those targeted tariffs. Rightly or wrongly.
But A5, now that Trump has aimed much broader and more destructive tariffs at Canada you are still a MAGA Trump supporter?
