After Grant Devine wrestled power away from the NDP in 1984 he had a low interest program for farmers.
The NDP had the land bank where you sold your land to the government and then rented it back. In most cases the land bank was a disaster for farmers.

I was starting to farm late 70s .Buying Land from a neighbor I had to match what he could get from Land Bank .Know lots that sold farm to them and rented all their Iives.Maybe had a little more cash flow early in their career but now do not have a farm to sell.
