Devil’s Advocate - Just Thinking - Trump knows something Canadians haven’t thought through : Russia and/ or China definitely have their eyes on the arctic. Canada seems totally disinterested in anything productive, Canada is now a trillion dollars in debt without a decent military to protect it. We are vulnerable to the north and need US, now more than ever in our history. We can’t afford to thumb our nose at joining America. One big America would be a mighty force. Just thinking with an open mind this morning.

LEP, or anyone else, a question.
The US invades Canada tomorrow. Would you send your son's off to fight and die to to keep Trudeau / Carney in power versus the alternative?
Is that a cause worth dying for?

I plan for the worst case, which is that it doesn't happen right away. We need to keep our house in order so that we aren't a complete basket case and unable to even negotiate favorable terms when the deal does happen.

It most definitely won't be a violent military annexation. The US definitely does not want to annex the worthless parts of the country that don't want to be annexed .
The regions of the country that have value will welcome the liberators with open arms.
Recent polls has only 13% of Canadians want to become the 51st State, while Alberta has 19% saying yes.

All Canadian political leaders federally and provincially are against it.

In your opinion how does it happen?

Trudeau is gone you fool! Drinking too much PP Koolaid A5?

Steven Harper once invited Carney to be finance minister noting his economic resume.

And Steve recently said he would impoverish Canada rather than letting Trump bully us.

If voters choose to elect Carney, the handfull of wanna be Republicans can simply pack up and move to the US.

If it is so great in Trump land what the hell are you waiting for?

Canada is just a flag and a national anthem that both were changed in the last 60 years, the people is what makes a country, we aren’t the same people as eastern Canada.

              DUH?

The gravy train goes off the tracks for them as we would move to the US political system with new elections.

They are all out of a job and have to start over starting with nominations to new parties.

Not in any way favorable to politicians.

Carney and Harper both came from Alberta!

44% of voters in Alberta voted NDP last time.

So you are not very different.

The difference in Alberta there was a lot more US immigration which brought more self centred individualism and you have by geological luck are sitting on a lot of oil which has brought a certain level of prosperity.

Canadian redundant useless “politicians” are quaking in their boots. The gravy train with indeterminate pensions may come to a screeching halt. Even Chuck will probably be out of a job.

Eastern Canada keeps moving west, keep dumping immigrants into Ontario and the Ontario’s keep moving west.

You mean PP may be out of job with his fat pension!

Who would hire the snarly career politician who has never had a real job outside of living off taxpayers as a politician?

Nobody needs a one track mind yapper and slogan writer!
