I keep hearing this like it's a bad thing, when it's actually just the way our parliamentary system works. Carney wasn't 'selected', he ran for and won a leadership race for the majority party in power after the old leader stepped down.

Just like Danielle Smith did after Jason Kenney resigned as leader of the UCP. Just like Paul Martin did after Chretien retired. Just like Kim Campbell after Mulroney. Just like Scott Moe after Brad Wall.

I'm going to be lazy and just ask..... out of all those examples of leadership succession... weren't most of the successors already elected as an MP and had a seat in Parliament?

Let's just say, 400K registered voters for the Liberal leadership race. Supposedly only about 150K cast a ballot. Next interesting thing is they disqualified the two "colored" candidates. Let's just speculate... what if alot of the non voting registered voters would have supported a colored candidate.

Shouldn't every candidate have won their seat in an federal public election FIRST? In my opinion you can't spin this to suit an agenda.... orchestrated by the Liberal Party of Canada.

How well do you think the Liberals would be doing in the polls if it was one of the other leadership candidates that won?

Edit, after thinking it over, newer higher versions of something always assumes improvements and upgrades.

Maybe Carney should be rated Trudeau -20.0 or even -200.0 on his policy and ambitions.

If you thought the mental midget Trudeau was dangerous, Carney( the "intellectual") could be catastrophic. Add to that the possibility of a Liberal majority and there could be rebellion.

I read the article. He sounds about as charismatic as a calculus teacher.

Doesn't matter if you think you are the smartest in the room. There is always someone smarter.

In my opinion he sounds dangerous. If he gets elected to PM there will quickly be voter's remorse.

His new carbon tax on large emmiters will take 3 to 5 times more out of the economy than the one he set to zero.

I would guess his Cabinet Ministers will expect to be puppets and dance to his tune. They are used to that anyway.
