I am hoping that common sense will prevail when Parliament resumes sitting, I don't think Ignatieff will be anxious to go to the polls, and hopefully he won't want to make the same mistake as Dion as far as the coalition is concerned.

The federal parties won't be receiving their $1.95 hogtrough entitlement for another 6 months, so unless the Liberals have a groundswell of popular support with $ attached, they can't afford another election.

Since Ignatieff signed the coaliton document, he has already pledged support in the event of a non-confidence motion. The way I see it, either he phones in sick in January, or we will see him take a chance on the democratic travesty of a separatist coaliton asking the Governeor General to install them as government.

I think the public has spoken loud and clear on the coalition, hopefully the GG has the semse to listen if push comes to shove !!!
There needs to be some common ground on the $1.95 issue, I think it should be phased out gradually, then if parties cannot raise the funds from their membership, I guess the writing is on the wall.
