    Big Roy

See Sf3's photo of Versatile tractor at Ag in motion.
Peter Pakosh and brother in law Roy Robinson were founders and owners of Versatile in Winnipeg.
Expect tractor was named Big Roy after Robinson who was at our farm in 1954.
Versatile had brought out their first self propelled swathers in 1953 and Roy was travelling around trouble shooting. Do not know what his role was in company after that.
Saw Big Roy tractor at Versatile display at Regina Ex or Farm Progress Show a year or two after tractor was built.

Peter Pakosh grew up near Mikado and was a good friend of my father annd his 2 brothers, also famous prairie machinery inventors and manufacturers. There were so many brains laid to rest. Peter's son wrote a Versatile History book. A book about the risk and sacrifice that came with the territory. Remember Jerome Bechard and the first air seeder? The Hanson Bros, the first pull-type combine using a stook haybine and a treshing machine to straight combine in around 1920. Just mentioning. All these guys knew each other and fed off each other.
